Rev. James A. “Pete” Walker, age 84 of White Pine, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 19, 2018 at his daughter’s home in Knoxville. Pete was retired from Magnavox and was a veteran of the US Army during the Korean War.
Pete is preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce Newman Walker and his second wife, Hazel Reneau Walker, sisters; Hazel Riley, Ruby McCarter, Margaret Henry and Mary Haynes and his parents, John Luther Walker and Leota Walker. Survivors include his children; J. Ray (Brenda) Walker, John (June) Walker, Joy (Victor) Ireson, Jackie Walker, Red (Rita) Reneau, Ann hicks and Mary McCarter, 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter, brother, Charles (Jeanie) Walker and sister, Inez (Jerry) Smith also several nieces, nephews and other family members. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 23, 2018, 7:00pm in the chapel of Farrar Funeral Home in Dandridge with the Rev. Jack Greene officiating. Family will receive friends from 5-7:00pm prior to the funeral service. Graveside Interment will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018, 11:00am in French Broad Brethren Church Cemetery.
