JAMES S. JOHNSON, age 87, of Dandridge, TN passed away peacefully on Monday, August 25, 2015 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Jefferson City, TN. James was born in Flank, FL on April 2, 1928 to George and Irene Johnson who preceded him in death. On March 5, 1966 he was united in marriage to Marguerite Kuehl, and along with her raised 2 children who survive, Darrell (Susan) Kuehl of Dandridge, TN and Gloria (Fred) Leach-Rider of Hartford, MI. James came from a family of 11 children, 2 sisters survive, Pat Hancock and Myrtice Parker, 2 brothers, Kenny Johnson and Monroe Johnson all of Plant City, FL. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marguerite, 4 sisters, Katherine Bodine, Mattie Parker Maggie Stockwell, Edie Mack and 2 brothers, Sonny Johnson and Bud Johnson. James was greatly loved by all, he touched lives of many who fondly called him “Grandpa Jim”. He is survived by10 grandchildren. A long and full life of gardening, loving his children and grandchildren he will be greatly missed. Family and friends will gather at his son’s home for a Celebration of Life on September 5, 2015 at 4:00pm located at 1559 Woods Ridge Rd., Dandridge, TN. Our family would like to send a special thank you to the staff of Jefferson Memorial Hospital and Jefferson City Health and Rehabilitation Center for the loving care given.
