JAMES L. (JIMMY) DANIEL, age 73, of Jefferson City, TN and formerly of Rutledge, TN passed away April 14, 2014 at his home. He was of the Baptist faith. He farmed before going to Magnavox, where he worked for 22 years before retirement. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, and old cars. He loved his Grainger County tomatoes and Hardee’s gravy and biscuit. He was preceded in death by parents, Chris and Elsie Daniel of Rutledge; grandson, Zachary Daniel; son-in-law, Wayne Davis and daughter-in-law, Brenda Daniel; brothers, J. L., Rayford, Gene, Charles (Bud) and Marcus (Pude); sister, Mary Elizabeth; and sister-in-law, Mamie Daniel. Survived by loving wife of 30 years, Betty; sons, Jamie of Asheville, NC, Eddie and Rick of Rutledge; daughters, Christine Davis of Rutledge, Tammy Daniel and fiancé, Bo Ridley of White Pine, Diane (Terry) Brooks of Jefferson City; first wife, Georgia Daniel of Rutledge; sisters, Dorothy Daniel, Bonnie (Charles) Mills of Rutledge, and Nancy (Eddie) Frankenburg of Bean Station; brother-in-law, Herschel (Barbara) Rogers of Lenoir City; sisters-in-law, Joyce Justice of Knoxville, Barbara Luttrell of Lenoir City; twelve grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; very special pet, Missy; granddog, Oscar; special friends, Fannie Lewis and Helen Anderson; many friends and family. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at Farrar Funeral Home with Rev. Gail Twaine officiating. Family and friends will gather at 10:45 a.m. Thursday morning at Jefferson Memorial Gardens for an 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service. Family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening prior to the service.
