James M. "Jim" Hinkle

James M. "Jim" Hinkle, age 68 of Strawberry Plains, TN, passed away suddenly on Saturday morning, Febriary 1, 2003 at his home. He attended Strawberry Plains Presbyterian Church and was a retired veteran of the United States Army, where he served for more than 30 years, retiring with the rank of CW4. After his retirement from the Army, he was employed with the Department of Defense for more than 13 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Grace Thompson and a brother, Johnny Hinkle. He is survived by his wife, Helen Hinkle of the home; son and daughter in law, Ed and Kay Hinkle of Farragut; granddaughter, Ashley Head of Strawberry Plains; and several other family members. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3, 2003 from the Farrar Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dennis Maxey and Dr. Gene Wilder offficiating, with music by Louis and Mary Charlotte Ball. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003 at the Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Knoxville with full military honors by the Fort Campbell Army Honor Guard of Fort Campbell, KY.
