JAMES “JIM” AARON, age 78, met Jesus on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 following a brief illness at Ft. Sanders Regional Hospital. He was a gifted pilot, wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and a Mason. A retiree of Roadway Express after 38 years of service and former owner of Fairway Lawn. Jim enjoyed his many work friends and fellow pilots. Preceded in death by his mother, Carrie Mae Aaron of Lexington, NC; his father Urban Aaron of California; and his uncle, Ervin Aaron of Lexington, NC. Left to mourn his loss are his wife of 58 years, Nancy H. Aaron; children, Jamie (John) Murphy, John Aaron and Amanda (Sam) Silver; seven grandchildren, Megan Aaron, Austin Aaron, Lauren Devotie, Brandi and Jacki Murphy, and Samuell and Matthew Silver; great-grandson, Beau Aaron; brother, Ronald Aaron of Albemarle, NC; his friend who was closer than a brother, Steve Hodges of Talbott, TN. He will be sadly missed by his two pet companions, Carrie and Roxie. Family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Farrar Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 4:00 p.m. with Dr. Sonny Strange officiating. Graveside interment service will 3:00 p.m. Monday, November 26, 2018 at Forest Hill Memorial Gardens in Lexington, NC.
