OBITUARY:
JAMES L. ?JABO? MAY, age 85, of Talbott, Tennessee, born May 2, 1919, passed away on Sunday evening, July 18, 2004 at his home with family and friends. ?Jabo? was loved by everyone who knew him. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U. S. Army in the Pacific at Pearl Harbor. Preceded in death by parents. Henry and Minnie Killion May and brother, Albert May. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Wilma Rainwater May; son, Jimmy ?Jabo? May of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Roy Smith of Talbott, TN; brother, Roy May of Jefferson city; sisters, Edna Martin of White Pine, Bernice May and Alta Ruth Whittaker of Jefferson City; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2004 at Farrar Funeral Home with Reverend Garland James, Reverend Mike Hurst and Reverend Charlie Hodges officiating. Family and friends will gather at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2004 at Sunderland Cemetery for a 10:00 a.m. graveside interment service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
