James (Did) Hicks

JAMES (DID) HICKS, age 76, of Jefferson City, TN passed away at 7:15 a.m. November 27, 2009 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. Member of Lebanon Baptist Church. He was a retired miner from Asarco (New Market Mine) with 25 years of service and was a veteran of the U. S. Navy. Preceded in death by parents, Raymond and Mollie Hicks. Survived by loving wife of 52 years, Sarah Hull Hicks; daughter and son-in-law, Donna Hicks and Richard Hardin of Ten Mile, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Michelle Hicks of Talbott, TN; grandsons, Matthew and Hayden; sister, Jane McGhee of Conyers, GA; several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will gather at 2:45 p.m. Sunday, November 29, 2009 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens for a 3:00 p.m. graveside interment service with Rev. R. J. Seal officiating. Family will greet friends following the graveside funeral service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Kingswood School, Inc., PO Box 5000, Bean Station, TN 37708.
