OBITUARY:
JAMES MARVIN GOFF, age 86, of Dandridge, TN passed away Sunday, March 11, 2007 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. James was born in Millard, KY on January 10, 1921. He was retired from the C & O Railroad. James was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U. S. Navy as a Chief Petty Officer on the USS Biscayne. He was in the invasions of North Africa, Sicily, Anzio and Iwo Jima. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Goff; son Charles Richard Goff and wife, Judy, of Dandridge, TN; three grandchildren, Alicia Goff Burch and husband, Dusty of Dandridge, Ray Goff and wife, Melissa, of Pikeville, KY, Cathy Falls and husband, Matt, of Elkhorn, KY; three great grandchildren, Lydia Goff, Hunter Falls and McCayla Falls; three sisters, Joanne Giese of Lovia, MI, Bobbie Rasnick of Pikeville, KY, and Juanita Wilson of Pensacola, FL; one brother, Sammy of Pikeville, KY. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at the Farrar Dandridge Chapel with Rev. Charlie Harkleroad officiating. Family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Resthaven Memorial Gardens on Indian Creek Road in Dandridge with military honors by the East TN Honor Guard.
