James E. (Jim) Thompson, age 70 of White Pine, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, April 24, 2014. He was a member of Leadvale Baptist Church and a former member, trustee and deacon of Grace Baptist Church in Morristown. He also was a retired agent for Modern Woodman of America. He is preceded in death by his parents; J.P. and Gladys Thompson. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Lois Thompson of White Pine, daughters; Melissa (Missy) Thompson of Bean Station and Debra Yvonne Taylor of Fountain City, grandchildren; Justin and Shanteen Kingsbury, great-granddaughter; Jemma McGinnis, sister; Donna Ruth Thompson and special friend Chris Worthington of Jacksonville, FL, special friends of the family; Brent Mathis, Kathie Self and Michael Dorton, and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2014, 7:00pm at Leadvale Baptist Church with the Rev. Charlie Harkleroad, Rev. Charles Robison and Rev. James Williams officiating. Family will receive friends from 4-7:00pm prior to the service at the church. Graveside Interment will be held on Monday, April 28, 2014, 11:00am, family, friends and pallbearers will gather at Farrar Funeral Home in White Pine at 10:30am to proceed to the cemetery. The family has requested that In Lieu of Flowers Memorial Donations be made to: Lakeway Animal Hospital, P.O. Box 298, Jefferson City, TN 37760. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim’s Sunday School Class from Leadvale Baptist Church.
