JAMES CHARLES “CHARLIE” DUVALL, age 72 of New Market passed away suddenly Monday, November 20, 2018. He was a retired law enforcement officer after many years of service having served on the University of Tennessee police force, Dandridge Police Department where he served as the Town’s 2nd chief of police and presently was a bailiff for the Jefferson Co. Sheriff’s Dept. Charles was a 50 year lifetime member of the French Broad Lodge #588 F. & AM and 33rd degree mason of the Knoxville Scottish-Rite bodies. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arvin and Betty Lou (Whittaker) Duvall; grandson, Isaac Hensley and son-in-law, Keith Huffaker and is survived by his wife of 40 years, Twinkle Hurst Duvall; daughters, Kelli Duvall Huffaker and Candice Duvall Hensley; devoted pet and companion, Studdy and many devoted friends and his law enforcement family.
