JAMES ANDREW DILLARD, age 86, of Strawberry Plains, TN went to heaven to join his wife, Iris, and other loved ones on December 26, 2019. He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church of Strawberry Plains, and did extensive study of the Bible. He will be remembered by many who met him through Wade’s Bakery in Knoxville, and he was also owner of Strawberry Plains Market and Deli for many years. He lived and enjoyed life, while making sure that his family always had all they needed. Preceded in death by his wife of nearly 50 years, Iris Wade Dillard; and parents, William Andrew and Mary Robinson Dillard. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, John Andrew and Patty Dillard; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Verlin and Mike Cannon; grandchildren, Shawn and Kelsey Dillard, and Ethan Cannon; great-grandchild, Eli Cannon; brothers, Kenneth Dillard (Barbara) and Joe Dillard (Charlotte); and many other family members and friends. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 28, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Strawberry Plains with Rev. Tony Hayes and Rev. Bob Neal officiating. Military graveside service will follow at Eastview Memorial Gardens with East Tennessee Volunteer Honor Guard presiding. Family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
