JAMES WALTER DAVENPORT, JR., age 76, of Dandridge, TN and formerly of Knoxville, TN passed away suddenly Thursday, April 28, 2011. He was the son of the late James Walter and Dorothea McCammon Davenport Sr. Mr. Davenport was a retired purchasing agent for Knox County and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Brazelton Lodge # 190 F. & AM and the Kerbela Shrine Temple and attended the First Baptist Church of Dandridge. Preceded in death by his brother, Calvin E. Davenport. Survived by his wife, Patricia Burchfield Davenport; step-children, Michael Eric Johnson and Jennifer Johnson; sisters, Evelyn (Dennis) O?Toole, Mary Lou (David) Mikels and Lois A. Riley all of Knoxville; brother, Thomas (Karen) Davenport of Powell; several nieces, nephews and many friends. A Masonic service followed by funeral services will held Saturday, April 30, 2011, 7:00pm at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel. Family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00pm prior to service.
