James E. Collins, of Dandridge, passed away on November 2nd at the age of 95. A WWII veteran, “Jim” was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Bea Kiger Collins. He is survived by his son, James E. Collins II (“Joc”), his daughter-in-law, Shannon Collins, and his loving granddaughter Celeste. Both Joc and Shannon are professors at Carson-Newman University. James was a long-time resident of Raleigh, NC, after graduating from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1952. He worked for 50 years as a bank Trust officer and then as an accountant. Jim lived locally for the last 10 years of his life, watching Celeste grow her first 9 years. There will be a memorial service at Farrar Funeral Home, Jefferson City, at 4:00pm on Thursday, November 9, 2017. The family will receive friends from 3:30 until 4:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
