James "Bud Dad" Norman Leckie, Jr., age 85 of White Pine, passed away after a brief illness on Monday, July 12, 2021, in Jefferson City, Tennessee. ?Bud Dad? was a local dairy farmer and a registered Holstein breeder. He was the owner/operator of Turcree Farms in White Pine, a graduate of the University of Georgia, a retired Lieutenant Commander in the U. S. Navy Reserves. He spent many years in leadership in many Georgia Agricultural organizations. After moving to Tennessee, he held many positions in the leadership of Tennessee Holstein Association. He served for eight years as Director of Holstein Association USA, then served as Vice President and President for a total of four years in Holstein Association USA. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lana Leckie; children, Ruth Lyn Jenkins (B.J.), James Norman Leckie, III (Freda), John Wordie Leckie (Melissa); 12 grandchildren; sister, Nancy Poulos; also nieces, nephews and several friends. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, August 1, 2021, 6:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of White Pine with Rev. Brian Osborne officiating and the family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
