JAMES RAY BAILEY, age 44, formerly of Kodak, TN passed away on July 2, 2015 at his current home in Shattuc, Illinois. He spent most of his adult life as an over-the-road truck driver. After leaving truck driving due to health, he came to live with Darrell and Dawn Brink who became a second family to him. During his time in Illinois, he enjoyed attending St. Louis Cardinal Games and seeing the Harlem Globetrotters. James was a charmer and everyone who met him loved him. He will undoubtedly be missed by all.
James was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Betty (Bailey) Pickle; son, Andrew Bailey; and grandparents, Ray and Ola Bailey.
James is survived by his son, Joshua Bailey; step-daughter, Amanda Gonia of Clinton, Michigan; grandson, Benjamin Mull of Michigan; father, James Harold Greer of Stapleton, Alabama; half-sisters, Connie Blankenship of Columbus, Georgia, La’Deana Greer, and Kim Frost of Atlanta, Georgia; half-brother, Joseph Troy Greer of Gardendale, Alabama; aunt, Juanita Stoffle of Kodak; and several other extended family. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to St. Judes Children Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or your favorite charity.
Graveside funeral services, Friday, 11:00am at Underwood Cemetery, Kodak, TN with Rev. Charlie Harkleroad and Bro. Bill Underwood officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00pm at FARRAR FUNERAL HOME, DANDRIDGE
