He was a member of Indian Ridge Baptist Church. Jake was a life long farmer in Grainger County. Preceded in death by infant daughter, Martha Anne Stalsworth; parents, Dudley and Pearley Dixon Stalsworth; brothers, Roger Stalsworth and John Stalsworth; sisters, Edith Jennings, Ova Ramsey and Georgia Kimbrough. Survived by loving wife of 58 years, Tressie Davis Stalsworth; daughter and son-in-law, Patsy (Pat) and David Branch of Knoxville; daughter, Teresa Whaley of Mascot, TN; son, Danny Stalsworth of Blaine; grandchildren, Tony Whaley, Tonya Overholt, Jamie Owens, Timmy Whaley, Teena Whaley, Justin Stalsworth and David Branch; great grandchildren, Courtney Overholt, Amber Overholt, Clayton Chamberlain, Jessica Clay and Taylor Clay; sisters, Willie Mae Moody of Corryton, TN and Martha Smith of Blaine, TN; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 24, 2004 at Indian Ridge Baptist Church with Reverend Torrance Phillips and Reverend Dean Braden officiating. Interment to follow in Indian Ridge Church Cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday evening, August 23, 2004 at Farrar Funeral Home in Jefferson City. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Robert C. Alley, nurse Sally Phillips and Jake?s sister-in-law, Anna Morgan for all their kindness and support during his extended illness.
