JACK C. STINNETT, SR., age 62, of Corryton, TN passed away suddenly Saturday, May 26, 2007. He was born November 12, 2007, 1944 in Knoxville, TN, the son of the late James L. and Dorcas Woods Stinnett, Sr. Jack was a retired diesel mechanic for the Knoxville Transit Authority. Veteran of the U. S. Army and the Vietnam Conflice, where he served two tours of duty as a crew chief and door gunner on the Huey helicopters. He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for Heroism and 11 Air medals for faithful service rendered. He was a member of the Vietnam crew Helicopters Assoc. and the Tennessee V.R. W. Post # 1733 and closed out his military career as First Sergeant of the Tennessee Defense Force. Survived by sons, Jack C. Stinnett, Jr. and Tim Stinnett; five grandchildren; sisters, Myrtle Lovingood and Martha Osgrove; brothers, James L. Stinnett, Jr., Carl Stinnett, John Stinnett and Jeff Stinnett; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 Tuesday, May 29, 2007 from the Farrar Dandridge Chapel with Rev. Greg White officiating. Graveside services with military honors will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Swanns Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service.
