Jack Owen Horner

JACK OWEN HORNER, age 65, of Talbott, TN died peacefully, surrounded by family on April 13, 2017. Jack was the owner and proprietor of The Corner, board member of the TN Recycling Coalition, former chief and founding member of the West Hamblen County Volunteer Fire Department. Additionally, Jack was a long-time employee of Goodwill Industries and Rural Metro in Knoxville. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Hattie Horner; brother, Lanny Horner; and brother-in-law, Von Slick Edmonds. Jack is survived by his brother, Keith Horner and wife Gearlene; sister, Mitzi Edmonds; nieces and nephews, Debbie, Morris, Beth, Charlene, Brent and Patty; special friends, Danny and Sonja Williams. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, April 17, 2017 at Farrar Funeral Home with Rev. Sam Youngblood officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday morning, April 18, at Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery in Talbott for an 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service.
