Jack A. Brooks

JACK A BROOKS, age 83, of Gray, TN and formerly of Jefferson City, TN passed away at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at James A. Quillen Medical Center following a brief illness. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Jefferson City. He was very active coaching with the youth of Jefferson City in swimming and tennis, and was a veteran of the U. S. Army. Preceded in death by his wife, Tommie Jean Brooks; and sister, Peggy Brooks. Survived by sons, Chip (Patricia) Brooks of Bradenton, FL, Steve Brooks of Bristol, TN; daughters, Gayle (Gene) Mermilliod of Jonesborough, TN, and Rhonda (David) Hawkins of Powell, TN; twelve grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will gather at 1:45 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2013 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens for a 2:00 p.m. graveside service with Rev. Gene Mermilliod officiating.
