J. D. Jordan

J.D. JORDAN, age 79, of Jefferson City, TN, passed away at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. He was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. He retired from U. S. Steel Mines with 38 years of service. Preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Hettie Jordan; sisters, Anna Mae Seals and Lucille Helton. Survived by son and daughter-in-law, Jarrett Dale and Shirley jordan of Jefferson City, TN; son, Harrell Britt Jordan of Talbott, TN; grandson, Shaun Jordan of Campbell County, TN; granddaugher, Tara Jordan Parton of Dandridge, Tn; four great grandchildren; sister, Mary Edith Slagle of Morristown, Tn; brother, Roscoe Burlie Jordan of Talbott, TN; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 28, 2006 at the Farrar Jefferson City Chapel with Rev. Horace Green officiating. Family and friends will meet at 1:45 p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2006 at Jarnigan Cemetery for a 2:00 p.m. graveside interment service. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. The family would like to thank the staff of Life Care Center of Jefferson City for the care and the kindness shown during their father's illness.
