J. T. "Hop" McGaha

J. T. "Hop" McGaha, age 73, of Dandridge, TN, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2003 at the Jefferson County Nursing Home in Dandridge. Mr. McGaha is survived by a brother, Ben McGaha of Newport, as well as several nieces and nephews. He had a close relationship with one niece in particular, Mrs. Barbara Henry, who spent time caring for Mr. McGaha throughout his life. He is preceded in death by his parents, John Thomas and Margaret Jane McGaha; brothers, Rupert, Fuller, Orvin, Roe, Ray, Roy and Tennyson McGaha; as well as sisters Nora Fremman, Pacy, Reneay, Reva, Rema and Ruth. Mr. McGaha was a member of Big Springs Baptist Church of Chestnut Hill. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2003 at the Big Springs Baptist church with Reverend Jerry Colbert and Reverend Alfred Newman officiating. Graveside interment services will he held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2003 at Proffitts Cemetery )Chestnut Hill).
