J. C. Cornwell, age 86, of Talbott, TN passed away suddenly on Wednesday, February 13, 2013. Preceded in death by parents, Cloyd and Ferne Cornwell; brothers, Wayland Cornwell, Ross Cornwell and Hugh Cornwell; sister, Jean Williams. He was a longtime deacon of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Jefferson City, and a World War II Navy Veteran. Survived by loving wife of 65 years, Bernice Cornwell; son, Larry Cornwell (Karla); grandchildren, Tracey Cornwell Brading (Roy), Elizabeth Warren (Justin), Michael Cornwell (Ashley) and Oliver Cornwell; great grandchildren, Amy Brading, Brandon Snider, Chase Brading, Elijah Styles, Kaleb Styles, Kylie Cornwell and Avery Cornwell; brothers, Kenneth Cornwell, Lowell Cornwell and Billy Cornwell; sisters, Edith Quarrels and Marcella Franklin. Funeral service will be 12:00 noon Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Jefferson City with Dr. Sonny Strange officiating. Interment will follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
