Iva Etherton Suttles

IVA ETHERTON SUTTLES, age 98 of Dandridge passed away Sunday afternoon, May 1, 2016. She was the oldest member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church. She was born the daughter of the late Arthur and Dora (Moon) Etherton. Iva was raised in Sevier Co and always enjoyed sharing her fond memories of living there. Iva was a beloved mother and grandmother who was known as the “Garden Lady” as she truly enjoyed working in her garden and outdoors. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maynard Suttles; sisters, Ruby Maples, Inas Smelcer and Irene and Josephine Etherton; brothers, Arthur Blaine“Jack” Etherton, Herbert Etherton and Minor Etherton. She is survived by her children, Kenneth (Barbara) Suttles, Bobby (Cleo) Suttles, Gerald (Mary) Suttles and Donnie (Donna) Suttles; 9 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Geneva Strange, Eula Catlett and Evelyn Latham; sister-in-law, Cora Etherton; host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held , Tuesday, May 3, 2016, 7:00pm at Shady Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Josh McIntosh and Rev. Garland Long officiating. Interment graveside services, Wednesday, 11:00am at Dandridge Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family suggest that memorials be made to the Shady Grove United Methodist Church, 1675 Harold Patterson Rd., Dandridge, TN 37725 or the charity of your choice.
