ISABELLA GRIFFEY HERRON, age 87, of Jefferson City, TN passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at Jefferson County Nursing Home. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Jefferson City. Born May 21, 1922 in Knox County to James and Sallie Griffey, her family later moved to Jefferson County where she pursued a nursing career. She met and married Paul Herron, who preceded her in death. They had three daughters and made their home in Jefferson City. While raising her family she continued her nursing career for 50 years. She will be remembered as a loving mother, a remarkable woman and an inspiring nurse. She is survived by daughters, Jean and husband Dean Roach, Paulette Henderson, Vickie and husband Cottis Morrow; grandchildren, Angie Gaut, LeAnn Phillips, Amy McKinion, Staci Fain and Stephen Mikels; great-grandchildren, Ashney, Bret, Amarys, Mara, Alexandra, Mason, Caitlin, Ryan, Aaron, Tyler and Justin; twin sister, Elizabeth Cadle; sister-in-law, Edith Seals; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Jefferson County Nursing Home staff and Smoky Mountain Hospice for their kindness and loving care to our mother. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 17, 2009 from the Farrar Jefferson City Chapel with Reverend Jack Lee officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. prior to the service. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 a.m. Friday morning at Farrar Funeral Home to proceed to Jefferson Memorial Gardens for an 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service.
