She was a faithful member of Oakland Baptist Church and a member of the Eastern Star of Oliver Springs. Irene was a devoted registered nurse as the Grainger County nurse, many years at the Milligan Clinic, supervisor of nurses at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, and an industrial nurse at Forrest Products and Magnavox. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Lowe;parents, Albert and Ella Stripling Borum; sister, Bobbie Alex and brother, Buster Borum. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Donny and Patty Clark Lowe of Rutledge; two beloved grandchildren, Dexter and Jerrica Lowe; sister and brother-in-law, Joann and J. T. Jenkins of Corryton, TN, sister, Willie Russell of Oliver Springs, TN; several nieces, nephews, friends, and beloved best friends, Roy and Jean Hodge. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 1, 2004, from the Farrar Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry DeZearn officiating. Graveside interment services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 2, 2004 at the Oakland Baptist Church Cemetery.
