IRENE JACKSON,74 years young, of Dandridge, TN went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Dec. 4, 2005 at 4:35 p.m. while in the presence of her family and friends at St. Mary's Hospital in Knoxville, TN. Irene was born Nov. 8, 1931 in Kenmore, Ohio, the daughter of Peter and Mary Federonich. She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Anna Yankulov, Margie Dubravetz; brothers, Pete, Andy and Johnny Federonich. Irene is survived by her loving husband and soul mate of 56 years, James Richard "Dick" Jackson; sons, James Richard Jackson, Jr. of Logan, Utah, Michael David Jackson of Spokane Valley, Washington, Dean Victor Jackson and Mark Anthony Jackson, both of Dandridgek TN; daughter-in-laws, Judy Jackson, Sharon Jackson and Terrie Jackson; grandchildren, Amy Jackson Kent and husband, Shaun Kent, Tori Jackson, Brian Jackson, Jennifer Jackson, Ryan Jackson, Carlie Jackson, Brandy Forrester and husband, Travis Forrester, Casey Jackson, Kevin Jackson and Christy Jackson; great grandchildren, Cassidy Kent and Kelsey "Irene" Kent. Irene is also survived by her sisters, Verna Kozma and Jay Zenner of California, and Mary Kantoroski of Akron, Ohio; sisters-in-law, Janelle Jackson of Bakersfield, California, Pauline Jackson of Tucson, Arizona, Jean Jackson of Akron, Ohio and special niece and nephew, Helen and Gary Gooden of Tucson, Arizona; brother-in-law, Frank Dubravetz of Akron, Ohio. Loved by her neighbors and life long friends, Howard and Mary Zenner of California, Ruth Hedrick of Dandridge, TN, Sydney Cagle of Las Vegas, NV, as well as all of her extended family and friends at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Jefferson City, TN. Irene has been a devoted mother and team mother for 44 years of youth sports from California to Tennessee. Her famous phrase "Go get 'em Tiger" has influenced more that 20,000 little leagers to succeed in a positive way both in sports and life. Irene was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church of Jefferson City, TN with Father Dan Whitman. Irene fought a courageous six year battle with lung cancer and leukemia, with the help of her family physician, Dr. Richard Antonucci and nurse, Wanda Corum of Tennessee Cancer Specialist, Knoxville, TN. Irene's family would also like to express their appreciation to Dr. Dewayne Darby, Dr. Barry Frame and Dr. John McGraw for their compassionate care. The family will receive friends at Farrar Funeral Home in Dandridge, Saturday, December 10, 2005 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with services immediately following at 7:00 p.m. Flowers are welcome.
