Bernice was a member of the Shady Grove United Methodist Church, member and president of Shady Grove U.M.W., past Worthy Matron of the Martha Dandridge Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter # 438, Dandridge Senior Citizens, Shady Grove Community Club, Shady Grove Home Demonstration Club, all of which she was active in. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Ibie Manning Sutton; sister, Glenna Mae Bush; brothers-in-law, Ben Bush and Alger Patterson. Survived by husband of 63 years, Vaughn L. Fox; son and daughter-in-law, Donavon and Judy Fox; daughter and son-in-law, Betty Carol and Frankie Simms; grandchildren, Angela and Steven Chambers, Sandra and Scott Childs, Scott and Sherry Simms, Stephanie Rustin, Kristi Fox; great grandchildren, Shane Chambers, Scotty Childs, Haley Chambers, Seth Childs and Blakely Rustin; sister and brother-in-law, Jewell and Harold Lewis; sister-in-law, Ruth Patterson; nieces and nephews, Jean and Doyle Derrick, Phyllis and John Meadows, Virgil and Mabel Jo Patterson, Jim and Robin Bush, Jimmy Dale and Mary Patterson, Mitzi and Dale Puckett, Pam Meadows, Mike and Alex Asbury, Doug and Christy Derrick and daughters, Brandon Patterson and Callie Bush; friend Greg Rustin and many other special friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Shady Grove United Methodist Church Building Fund, 1675 Harold Patterson Road, Dandridge, TN 37725. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 8, 2004 at Shady Grove United Methodist Church with Reverend Jeff Moncier and Reverend Paul Lane officiating. Graveside interment services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 9, 2004 at Shady Grove Cemetery with Order of Eastern Star Service by Martha Dandridge Chapter # 438.
