HUGH M. ?SPARKY? SPARKMAN, age 84, of New Market, TN, born June 2, 1924, passed away May 8, 2009. He retired from the military and Chrysler Coorporation. He was a member of George Street United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by his parents, James K. Polk and Maggie Sparkman; sister, Rowena Frame; brothers, James Sparkman, Elbert Sparkman, Mal Sparkman, Arthur Sparkman; nephew, Haskell Sparkman; and granddaughter, Angela Denise Poss. He is survived by his wife, Laura; siblings, John and Clair Sparkman; and Earl and Ruth Sparkman of Michigan; children, Shirley and Paul Wilmoth, Diania and Royce Poss, David and Amanda Sparkman, Sissy and Ricky Simmons, and Danny and Demarise Sparkman of Sparta, TN, Michael and Deanna Mitchell of White Pine, TN, Diana and Raymond Musall of New Market, TN, Marty and Regina Mitchell of Bean Station, TN, Jackie and Dana Mitchell of Winston Salem, NC, and Jimmy and Karen Sparkman of Jacksonville, FL; twenty-three grandchildren, including the grandchild he made his home with, Laura Musall; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening, May 10, 2009 from the Farrar Jefferson City Chapel with Reverend Michael Woodward and Reverend Jeff Wright officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. prior to the service. Family and friends will gather at Farrar Funeral Home on Monday, May 11, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. to proceed to Jefferson Memorial Gardens for graveside interment service will full military honors.
