He was a member and elder of First Presbyterian Church of Jefferson City. He was a lifelong farmer and was the last surviving organizing director of the Tennessee Farmers Cooperative. In 1957, he was chosen by Progressive Farmer magazine and the University of Tennessee as a Master Farmer. He served on the Jefferson County Commission for 16 years. He is preceded in death by his wife, Racine Manis Moser. Survived by his children, J. Moser and wife, Susan of Jefferson City, Ann Moser Watson and husband, Stuart of Midlothian, VA; grandchildren, Jake Moser and wife, Roxanne, Kate Moser Hickey and husband, Jason, Libby Moser, Doug Watson and wife, Misty and David Watson; great-grandchildren, Jarret Moser, Jackson Moser, Jonas Moser, Ben Hickey and Samantha Hickey. The family would like to thank special caregivers Patricia Foster, Kathleen Farrar, Juanita Sexton, and also Darby House, Smokey Mtn. Home Health and Hospice and St. Mary's Jefferson Memorial Hospital. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the House and Grounds Fund at First Presbyterian Church, 721 Church Street, Jefferson City, TN 37760. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 14, 2007 from the First Presbyterian Church with Reverend Russ Weekley and Mr. Harry Finley officiating. Interment graveside services will follow the service at Westview Cemetery. Friends may call at their convenience after 3:00 p.m. Thursday at Farrar Funeral Home in Jefferson City.
