Howard “Lee” Cox, age 54, a life-long resident of Dandridge, TN, went home to be with Jesus on Monday, February 8, 2021 following a battle with COVID. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Alice Cox and his sister, Aldena (Cox) Phillips. He was a member of the Greenhill Baptist Church where he enjoyed playing music through the years. A gifted photographer, his legacy will live on in the portraits he created and the photographers he mentored in his travels around the country. Lee was passionate about several hobbies, including antique farming, especially steam engines, John Deere tractors, and horse-powered farm equipment. He loved steam locomotives, model trains, logging railroads, old-school professional wrestling and bled orange for UT football and basketball. Lee was a talented bluegrass musician playing the guitar, banjo and upright bass. Survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Martha and devoted 16-year-old son, James; brother, Wendall H. Cox; sister, Margie (Cox) Mills and husband, Ennis; brother, Bart Cox and wife, Melanie; brother-in-law, Terry Phillips; nieces and nephews, Daniel and Emma Phillips, Allison and Alex Clark, Matthew and Dusti Cox, Christen and Jake Chiles, Laura Mills, Andrea and Bryant Dalton, Aaron Mills, and Savannah, Garren and Hayley Darling; great-nieces and nephews, Meleah, Brooke, Bry, Brantley, Leo, Lila, Madison and Lenora and several dear aunts and uncles. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made for the family’s expenses at TVA Employee Credit Union c/o Martha Jean Cox, 622 E. Broadway Blvd., Jefferson City, TN 37760. There will be a visitation from 11:00am until 1:00pm on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Greenhill Baptist Church with a service to follow at 1:00pm with Pastor Caleb Dennis officiating.
