HESTA LEE LOVEDAY BAXTER, of Dandridge, TN, born February 20, 1917, passed away on December 16, 2010. She was a member of Hills Union United Methodist church and the Ladies Auxiliary. Going to church and being with her friends was always special to her. She loved to make her chicken and dumplings for all occasions, and quilting was a pastime for her. A special thanks to the staff at the Jefferson County Nursing Home, where she made a lot of new friends. Preceded in death by her father and mother, Jessie and Cora Gann Loveday; husband, Houston Baxter; son, Doyle (Tommy) Baxter; grandson, David Edmonds; brothers, Jay and Clabe; sisters, Esta and May; son-in-law, Herbert; great-granddaughter, Angel Duncan. She is survived by son, Rev. Cecil Baxter of Chattanooga; daughters, Grace Reneau, Dorothy Edmonds (James), Linda Simpson (Charles); daughter-in-law, Alma Ruth Baxter, all of Dandridge; fourteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great-grandchild; many special nieces and nephews. She wanted everyone to know she loved them. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 19, 2010 at Hills Union United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Ladd, Rev. Cecil Baxter and Frankie Edmonds officiating. Interment will follow the service in Hills Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 5:30 until 8:30 p.m. at Farrar Funeral Home in Dandridge.
