He was of the Baptist faith. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Jenkins; mother, Ina Gann Jenkins; grandson, Chad Strange; brothers, James Jenkins and Chester Jenkins; sister, Agnes Bales. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Jenkins; son and daughter-in-law, Eugene and Tammy Strange of Morristown, TN; daughter, Vickie Dalton; grandson, Thomas Dalton; granddaughter, Jessie Strange, all of Talbott; sister, Gladys Finley of Jefferson City; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2008 from the Farrar Jefferson City Chapel with Rev. Franklin Barnette officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Family and friends will gather at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 28, 2008 at Farrar Funeral Home to proceed to Pleasant Ridge Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service. Pallbearers will be John Whitaker, Junior Strange, Eugene Strange, Kenny Drinnon, Buddy Sherrod, Kyle Strange and Thomas Dalton.
