Henry F. Surrett

HENRY F. SURRETT, age 81, of White Pine, Tennessee, born January 14, 1922 , passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2003. He was a member of the White Pine First United Methodist Church . He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Army and receiving the Purple Heart. He was a member of the American Legion, board member of the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce, former mayor of White Pine, White Pine Lions Club, and the owner/manager of Allen-Surrett Hardware. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Ellen Gammon Surrett; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Kay Surrett; daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Mike Price; grandchildren, Laura Price Reece and husband, Jack, Farrah Surrett Newman and husband, Will, Matthew Surrett, Kristin Price and Justin Price; great grandson, John Willis Newman; sister, Dorothy Manis; brothers, Earl Surrett, Benny Surrett and Donald Surrett. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 4, 2003 at the White Pine First United Methodist Church with Reverend Eddie Noe and Reverend Kenneth Richey officiating. Interment to follow in the White Pine Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. Saturday prior to the services at the church.
