SNODDERLY, age 89, (who had hoped to celebrate his 90th birthday on May 30), passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2005 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. Formerly of Union County, he operated H.F. Snodderly General Merchandise in Piedmont for many years. He served on the Jefferson County Road Department for 24 years and was a deacon and Sunday School teacher at Piedmont Baptist Church for many years. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U. S. Army. Survived by wife of 66 years, Mildred Bailey Snodderly; daughters, Karen (Jim)Williams of Nashville and Joann (Brent) Frazier of Taejou, South Korea; brothers, Earl (Willie) Snodderly of Johnson City, Ross (Reba) Snodderly of Crossville, Carl (Eula) Snodderly of White Pine, James (Sylvia) Snodderly of Piedmont; sister, Lois Ketner of Morristown; grandchildren, Tyler and Drew Frazier of Jefferson City and Wallis Williams of Nashville; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 5, 2005 at Piedmont Baptist Church with Reverend James Kinser and Reverend Clyde Tilley officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:15 a.m. Friday, May 6, 2005 at Piedmont Cemetery for a 10:30 a.m. graveside interment service. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. Thursday prior to the service at the church.
