Helen Pauline (White) Denton

Helen Pauline (White) Denton, age 93, of Dandridge, TN (Piedmont Community) passed away on Thursday morning, August 12, 2010. She was a lifelong member of Piedmont Baptist Church, where she served the church for many years as pianist, faithful member of the WMU and Loyal Soldier Sunday School Class, choir member as well as serving on numerous church committees. She was a homemaker, loved farming and gardening, and was very active in her community where she served as a substitute teacher at Piedmont Elementary and election clerk. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernestine Denton; son, David Denton; parents, Sam and Hettie White; brothers, Haskel and Taft White; and sisters, Mamie Whillock, Paralee French, Jessie Scaggs, and Zelma White. She is survived by her son; Harold (Brenda) Denton; daughter-in-law, Ruth Denton Hart; grand children, Rick Denton, Lorri (Lenny) Miller, Kristi (Jeff) Coffey, Kendra (Jeff) Kirk and Justin (Allison) Denton; and eight great-grandchildren. A special thanks to the staff of Jefferson County Nursing for their kindness and compassion during her brief illness. Also a special thank you to her sitter, Mrs. Teresa Walker for her many acts of kindness and compassion during the last several months. The family will receive friends Friday evening, August 13, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at Piedmont Baptist Church with a Celebration of Her Life to follow at 8:00 pm, officiated by Rev. Robert Neal and Rev. Lenny Miller. Graveside interment services will be Saturday, 10:00am at Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons.
