Helen Hawks

HELEN HAWKS, age 88, of the Regency Retirement Center of Morristown, and formerly of Jefferson City, TN passed away May 19, 2008. She was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church and a graduate of Asheville Teachers College and Appalachian State University. She was a teacher and librarian in North Carolina for over 30 years. Preceded in death by her husband, Ned A. Hawks; mother and father, Joseph William and Rosa Worthington. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Brent and Debbie Hawks of Swannanoa, NC; daughter and son-in-law, Wilbur and Donna Blake of Strawberry Plains, TN; grandchildren, Athena Hawks of Swannanoa, NC, Curtis, Bryan and Richard Blake, all of Strawberry Plains, TN; great grandchildren, Madison and Holden Blake; sister, Marjorie Powell of Inman, SC. Special thanks to the devoted caregivers, Mary Ruth Fultz and Angela Horne. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2008 from the Farrar Jefferson City Chapel with Reverend Michael Bundon officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. prior to the funeral service.
