DAWSON, born Hedvika Hubena, age 78, of Hendersonville, TN passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2004 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville of complications associated with chronic illness. Mrs. Dawson was born in Bila Tremesna, Czech Republic, residing there and in the community of Dvur Kralove until relocating to the Federal Republic of Germany after World War II. It was there that she met her husband, former Tennessee Highway Patrol Commander and State Safety Commissioner, Richard M. Dawson. She came to the United States in 1954 and has generally resided in communities throughout Tennessee since. Mrs. Dawson has been a resident of Hendersonville since 1971. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard M. Dawson; and brothers, Josef and Jaroslav Hubeny. She is survived by one son, Dr. Lawrence E. Dawson of Jefferson City. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, December 18, 2004 from the Farrar Jefferson City Chapel with Reverend Leroy Davis officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. prior to the service. Funeral services will also be held at Hendersonville Funeral Home, 353 E. Main Street, Hendersonville, TN 37075 on Monday, December 20, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a. m. until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.
