Hazel Miller

HAZEL MILLER, age 84, of Jefferson City, TN passed away Friday, May 2, 2008 at the home of her niece, Julia Fleming of Mount Airy, NC following a brief illness. She was born Dec. 16, 1923 to the late Ralph H. and Gertrude Underwood Miller. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Wallace (Lighting) Miller. She is retired from Magnavox Corporation and a charter member of First United methodist Church of Jefferson City for 75 years. She is survived by her niece and husband, Julia (Judy) and Leon Fleming of Mount Airy, NC; nephew and wife, Randy and Lois Miller of Morristown; great-nephews, Rusty and Dustin Miller; sister-in-law, Dorothy (Dot) Miller of Morristown; special friends, Debbie and Wayne Metcalf of New Market and their son, Robbie. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday, May 4, 2008 from the Farrar Jefferson City Chapel with Brother Norman Smelcer, Reverend Ton Underwood and Reverend Mitch Cain officiating. Family and friends will gather at 11 a.m. Monday, May 5 at Farrar Funeral Home to proceed to Jefferson Memorial Gardens for a 12 noon graveside interment service. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Pallbearers will be Mickey Fawbush, Stanley Fleming, Charles Guinn, Wayne Metcalf and Bill Peterson. Honorary pallbearers will be Leon Fleming and Lee Fleming. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030. The family would like to thank everyone who shared a part of Hazel's life, her friends, relatives, neighbors and family. Remember her beautiful smile as she lives on.
