MCGHEE, age 82, of Newport, TN, formerly of Jefferson County, passed away February 18, 2008 at her home. Member of Jefferson City Church of God. She was a homemaker most of her life, a wonderful mother, wife and friend. Preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, John H. McGhee; grandson, Anthony D. McGhee; mother and father, Lue (Grubb) and Beecher Daniel; sisters, Georgia Hickman and Ruth Jones; brother, James Henry (Buddy) Daniel. She is survived by two children; son, Wayne D. McGhee and wife, Patricia of Newport, TN; and daughter, Janie (McGhee) Parker and husband, Michael of Richmond, IN; four grandchildren, Michael Parker Jr. (Dena), Teressa (Parker) Williams (Steve), all of Richmond, IN, Jeffrey Parker of New York, Amanda Wilson (Scott) of Knoxville; nine great-grandchildren, Craig and Chase McGhee, Kaitlyn Loveday, all of Kodak, Spencer, Brennen, Preston, Mitchel Parker and Kaylynn and Landon Williams, all of Richmond, IN, Titus Wilson of Knoxville; sisters, Gladys Brady of Strawberry Plains, TN and Piney Slusser of Detroit, Michigan; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Memorial service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the Farrar Jefferson City Chapel with Rev. Walter Isbill and Rev. William Swafford officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Friday morning at Westview Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
