Hazel Byrd Kinder

HAZEL BYRD KINDER, age 93, of Hamblen County, TN went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 8, 2009 at Life Care of Jefferson City. She was a long-time member of Magna View Baptist Church and worked many years as a practical nurse at Milligan Clinic and Jefferson Memorial Hospital. She grew up in Grainger County, then resided in Jefferson and Hamblen Counties. She was the last surviving child of David and Martha McDaniel Byrd, having been preceded by seven brothers and sisters. She is also preceded by her husband, Hollis Kinder and son, Jerry Kinder. Survived by sons, Gene Kinder and wife, Pat of Talbott, TN, Harold Kinder and wife, Barbara of Knoxville, Don Kinder and wife, Gail of Mechanicsville, VA, Kenneth Kinder and wife, Beverly of New Market, TN, eleven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; and several special nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at Magna View Baptist Church with Reverend George Miller officiating. Family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. prior to the service. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Thursday morning at Jefferson Memorial Gardens for an 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service.
