HAZEL POOLE DILL LITTLEFIELD, age 85, of Dandridge, TN, departed this life on February 13, 2011 to be with her Lord, family and friends who have gone on before her. She was the youngest daughter of the late Street and Jane Poole of Greer, South Carolina. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her three brothers and three sisters. She spent most of her life living in northern Greenville County of South Carolina, but has lived the last five years in Dandridge. Hazel was married to William Paul Dill in 1943 and they had three sons. Mr. Dill passed away in 1960. She later married Harrison Littlefield, who passed away in 1976. She was formerly employed at Stone Manufacturing, Victor Mill and JP Stevens Plant, Taylors. After her retirement, she was a home health sitter in the Greer area. Mrs. Littlefield was a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church in Greer, South Carolina. She was faithful in her attendance as long as her health permitted. During her final years living in Tennessee, she was visited and cared for by the First Baptist Church of Dandridge outreach program at Jefferson County Nursing Home. She is survived by three sons and their families, Mark and Gail Dill of Dandridge, Bill and Pat Dill of Greer, Rev. John and Nancy Dill of Anderson, SC; seven grandchildren, Amanda Dill, Michael Dill, Brad Dill, Heather Souther, Faith Chappell, Chris Dill, Jennifer (Dill) Miller; ten great-grandchildren who dearly loved their ?Granny Hazel.? Other survivors include seventeen nieces and nephews and a host of extended family and friends. The family expresses much appreciation to those that continued to visit, send cards and phone calls while Hazel was in both assisted living and the nursing home. Special appreciation is expressed to Jefferson County Nursing Home in Dandridge, TN for the outstanding care and love that was given to Hazel. Thank you to each nurse, nurse assistant, and staff member that made her feel special while at this facility. The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 16, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Wood Mortuary in Greer, SC, with the memorial service to follow at 8:00 p.m. Burial will be at Camp Creek Baptist Church in Greer, SC on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. Grandchildren will serve as casket bearers. The family is at the home of Bill and Pat Dill. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorials be given to the First Baptist Church of Dandridge Building Fund, PO Box 246, Dandridge, TN 37725.
