Hazel Faye Day

Hazel “Faye” Day died peacefully on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at the Regency Retirement Village. Faye was born on June 17, 1946, in Thorn Hill, TN, to William and Rhoda Frye. She married Jack Day in 1965, and together they raised two children, Susie and Jessie, and ran a successful auto parts business in Jefferson City, TN. At Jack Day Auto Parts, Faye mixed the paint, operated the business affairs, and kept everyone in line. She was a member of New Market Baptist, where she enjoyed her lady’s group. Faye loved being part of Operation Christmas Child and spent many Christmas seasons happily packing shoe boxes. Faye was an avid NASCAR fan who never missed a Sunday race and always cheered for #3 Dale Earnhart. Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Day; parents, William and Rhoda Frye; siblings, Carl Frye, Ruth Ann Coffman, Sharon Anna Lee Holt, and Bruce Frye. Left to mourn her passing are her children, Susie (Darryll) Barbee and Jessie (Rebecca) Day; grandsons Justin Hodge and John Tyler Bates. The family would like to say a special thank you to the memory care unit at Regency and Caris Healthcare for the exceptional care Faye received. We cannot thank you enough for taking care of our mother as if she were your own mother (or father). The family will have a graveside service Wednesday at 11:00 am at Jefferson Memorial Gardens led by Pastor J.W. Taylor. Our beloved Faye was loved by all, missed by many, and received by one, her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Until we meet again. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her honor to Operation Christmas Child.
