HARRELL BRITT JORDAN, of Talbott, TN, born May 31, 1952 has lost his battle with diabetes on June 7, 2010 at Ft. Sanders Medical Center in Knoxville. Harrell lived in Jefferson County all of his life and loved his farm and many friends. He was a member of Nina Baptist Church and later became a member of Mansfield Gap Baptist church, which he loved. His passing leaves a hole in the heart of his many friends who remember how he loved life and loved to laugh. Although Harrell was never in a political office, he actively supported many of the Jefferson County politicians. This was a practice taught to him by his grandfather, Hunley Britt. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, J. D. Jordan and Maude Britt Jordan. Survived by son, Shaun of Knoxville; brother and sister-in-law, Jarrett Dale and Shirley Jordan; five grandchildren; and niece, Tara Parton of Dandridge. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 10, 2010 at Mansfield Gap Baptist Church with Rev. Avery Turley officiating. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the funeral service. Interment to follow in Jarnigan Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Farrar Funeral Home in Jefferson City. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the American Diabetes Society.
