HANNAH CHILTON JAYNES, age 84, of White Pine, TN passed away Monday morning, August 1, 2011 following a brief illness. She was born September 11, 1926, the daughter of the late Lute and Mayme Shadden Chilton. A graduate of the University of Tennessee Knoxville, she went on to teach kindergarten at White Pine School for over 25 years. She was also active in the White Pine community service as a Girl Scout leader, a faithful member of White Pine First United Methodist church, and participated in activities related to the family farm. Preceded in death by her husband, Donald Jaynes; son, Roy Jaynes; brothers, George, John and Joe Chilton; sisters, Mary Pritchett and Janie Ingram. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Gary Johnson of Kingston; son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Libby Jaynes of White Pine; grandchildren, Wendy and Archer Coppedge of Maryville, Melissa and Sam Axley of Savannah, GA, Anna Jaynes, Jenny and John Adams, Chris and Yegi Cole; great-grandchildren, Leslie and Maggie Coppedge, Ethan Axley, John "J" Addalee and Cole Adams and River Cole; ; sisters, Betty Cole of Morristown and Doris Gillette of Oak Ridge. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial gifts be made to the White Pine First United Methodist Church, PO Box 146, White Pine, Tn 37890. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at the White Pine First United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark McFaddon officiating. Interment graveside service will be Thursday, August 4 at 10:30 a.m. at Seahorn's Chapel Cemetery. Family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
