Gregory Lee Manning (Gregg) from Ventura County, California passed away early Saturday morning, November 24, 2018 at Ojai Community Center In Ojai, California. Gregg was born in Rocky Mount, N.C. to Cooper Lee & Peggy Davis Manning on August 2, 1956. He went to high school at Morristown East High in Morristown, TN and graduated in 1974. He went on to ETSU to earn a degree in Music. Gregg liked to play music & sing. He played the piano, saxophone, guitar, & flute. He lived in White Pine, TN and after graduating from college, he moved to California to pursue his music career. He taught music at Heck’s Music Store in Ventura, California. He also enjoyed surfing in his off time. Gregg is preceded in death by is father, Cooper Manning. He is survived by his mother-Peggy Manning, sister-Devera Baxley (Randy), brother- Gary Manning (Debbie), nieces-Mindy Osborne (Brian), Larissa Harkleroad (Cory), Heather Harmon (Christopher), and several great nieces & nephews- Madyson Osborne, Bryson Osborne, Jackson Osborne, Dylan Harkleroad, Cally Harkleroad, Sonner Harkleroad, and Faith Hardin. He is also survived by his extended family, Skip & Jolene Mullins of Ventura, California who were his care takers and good friends during his stay at Ohai Community Center. The family would like to extend a warm thank you to them for the sacrifices of their time to making sure Gregg was well taken care of. A Memorial Service for Gregg will be held at First Baptist Church in White Pine on Tuesday, December 11th at 6:00 with Reverend Brian Osborne officiating.
