GORDON BRADFORD TAYLOR, age 74, of the Chestnut Hill community in Dandridge, TN, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 6, 2009. He was a dedicated and well respected constable of the 8th district, who served in law enforcement in Jefferson County for over 21 years. An avid outdoorsman at heart, he enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family and friends. He attended the Swannsylvania Baptist Church and will be remembered for his many acts of kindness to his friends, and many hours of service to his community. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty (Gray) Taylor; parents, Arthur and Anna Taylor; brother, Arthur Taylor, Jr.; and sisters, Margaret Rick and Pat Smith. He is survived by his children, Tommy (Nancy) Taylor of Chestnut Hill, Tammy (Phil) Killion of Newport, Pam (Brian) Rathbone of Newport, Brandi (Robby) Reece of White Pine; nine grandchildren, Daniel (Kelly) Taylor, Bradley (Adriana) Taylor, Travis (Tiffany) taylor, Tamara Taylor, Candace Killion, Kayla (Roy) Estes, Anthony (Jennifer) Rathbone, Breann (Chris) Shearer, and Colby Reece; eleven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at the Swannsylvania Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Hensley officiating. Interment graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 9, 2009 at Taft Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Swannsylvania Baptist Church prior to the service.
