Glenn Algo Shelnutt

GLENN ALGO SHELNUTT, age 84, of Jefferson City, TN passed away on September 8, 2008 at Life Care of Morristown. He was a member of the Jefferson City Christian Church, retired from North American Phillips Electronics, and was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U. S. Army. Preceded in death by mother and father, Hershel and Ella Shelnutt; brothers, Ed Shelutt and Robert Shelnutt; sister, Nellie Roper; brother-in-law, Lloyd Roper. He is survived by his wife, Jimmie Ann Shelnutt; son and wife, Allen and Cornelia Shelnutt; daughter and husband, Ann and Barry Matthews; brother and wife, Jerry and Peggy Shelnutt; grandchildren, Joseph Allen, Daniel Silcox, Jackson Shelnutt, Cooper Shelnutt and Jenny Silcox; great-granddaughter, Peyton Silcox; sisters-in-law, Shirley Shelnutt and Ruth Shelnutt; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 10, 2008 from the Farrar Jefferson City Chapel with Reverend Robert Emmert officiating. Interment to follow the service at Jefferson Memorial Gardens with military honors by East Tennessee Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jefferson City Christian Church Building Fund.
