Glenda Rose (Smith) Bidgood

GLENDA ROSE (SMITH) BIDGOOD, age 78, of Dandridge, TN, formerly of Rockaway, New Jersey, passed away Saturday, September 12, 2009 following a brief illness. She was born and raised in Rockaway, New Jersey, the daughter of the late Preston and Gladys Hammell Smith. Preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Bidgood; brothers, Sherwin, Lealiyn and Kenyon Smith. Glenda was a telephone operator for many years n Rockaway, NJ and then moved to Brooksville, FL where she worked as a CNA before retiring to Dandridge, TN. Survived by daughters, Kathleen S. (Thomas) Downes of Crystal River, FL, Carol L. Bidgood and Cynthia Bidgood of Dandridge, TN; grandchildren, Jennifer A. (Mert) Hodge of Dandridge, TN, Thomas R. (Leslie) Downes of Raleigh, NC, Michelle L. (Joseph) Zimmerman of Denville, NJ, Aileen S. (Brian) Goldstein of Middlesburg, FL; great-grandchildren, Cassidy, Parker, Emily, Kate, Willow and Marissa; brothers and sisters, Durand Smith, Marilyn McPeak, June Stephens, all of New Jersey, Dianne Johansson and Gyl Fela of PA; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at the Farrar Dandridge Chapel with Rev. Darrell Chambers officiating. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
