Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Teacher ? Glenda Sue Howell Jellicorse - of New Market, TN passed away on Monday, November 28th in Knoxville, TN. Glenda was born on December 20, 1943 in Jefferson City, TN. She married her childhood sweetheart, Reg M. Jellicorse on July 18, 1965, and was wed for 46 years. To this union was born Dr. Regina J. Fields, Sarah Lynn Jellicorse and William R. H. Jellicorse. She and Reg are members of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church in Knoxville.
Margaret Howard Howell and William Dean Howell, Sr. of Morristown, preceded their daughter in death as did her grandparents Annie Mae Masengill Howell and Glenn A. Howell, and Mary A. Francisco Howard and John Howard all of Morristown.
At the present time, Glenda Sue was a Family and Consumer Science teacher at Halls High School where ?Ms. Jelly? was loved and respected by faculty and students. She has also taught other subjects in Jefferson County Schools, Grainger County Schools, Morristown Schools and Knoxville Schools. In 1965 she graduated with a BS in Home Economics from the University of Tennessee and also earned her Master?s Degree in Home Economics. Among her many talents was her flower arranging where she and Reg owned The Tennessee Green Nursery in Morristown, TN. Also she was an avid quilter having quilted many lovely quilts and hand bags for her family and friends.
Glenda is survived by her husband, Reg Jellicorse and daughters, Dr. Regina J. Fields and husband, Branson, of Jefferson City, Sarah Lynn Jellicorse of Knoxville and son, William R.H. Jellicorse and wife Emily of Knoxville; her grand children, Zane R. Fields, Emma Grace Fields of Jefferson City and Micah R. Jellicorse of Knoxville. Her sister, Mary Lynn Howell Morell and husband Kyle of Dickinson, TX and Bill D. Howell and wife, Peggy, of Morristown. Other close and loved relatives are Temple Jellicorse Halsey and husband, Robert of Winston Salem, N.C., Lynn Ellen Jellicorse Farris and Tom of Matthews, N.C. Steve Jellicorse and wife Brenda of Raleigh, N.C. and Tim Jellicorse of New Market, TN. There are numerous loved cousins, nieces and nephews.
Farrar Funeral Home, Jefferson City, is in charge. Friends will be received on Friday, December 2nd from 4 PM to 7 PM with the service to follow in the chapel from 7:00 to 8:00 PM. Family burial will be on Saturday in New Market, TN. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Halls High School Scholarship Fund, 4321 Emory Road, Knoxville, TN 37938.
Pallbearers are Branson Fields, Will Jellicorse, Bill Howell, Steve Jellicorse, Tim Jellicorse and Robbie Franklin, her brother in Christ.
Glenda will be missed by all those that knew her. Glenda was surrounded by her family and love at the time of her death.
