Gerald E. (Jerry) Baldwin

GERALD E. (JERRY) BALDWIN, age 70, of Morristown, TN passed away at his home at 3:35 p.m. on Tuesday, October 21, 2008. Jerry was a member of the Church of Christ. He was past president of the Southeastern Advertising Publishers Association, owner of Smokey Mountain Trader, member of the Association of Free Community Papers and member of the Independent Free Papers of America. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving with the 101st Airborne Division. Jerry was an accomplished, self taught musician, an avid golfer and ice skating instructor. He was the recipient of the 2008 Herb Campbell Award. Jerry was an incredibly creative person with patent pending inventions. Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Warren Baldwin, Sr. and his mother, Dorothy Elfie Heidrich Baldwin. He is survived by his wife, Judie Holt Baldwin; sister and brother-in-law, Eileen and Ardie Carney; brother, Warren Baldwin, Jr.; children, Christine Poynter of Sulphur, LA, Peggy Anderson of Omaha, NE, David Baldwin of Nashville, TN, Greg Baldwin of Nashville, TN; seven grandchildren; step-children, Jeff and Lisa Holt, Eric and Lori Holt, and Scott Holt; step-grandchildren, Michael C. Holt, Aaron C. Buchanan, Jeremiah Ray Holt, Polly Jessica Holt, Ronnie James Holt, Steuart James Holt; several nieces and nephews; special friends are Lynn and Charlotte Earls and Rodney and Tabatha Rucker. The family wishes to give a special thanks to the Adventa Hospice Services of Morristown, TN. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 24, 2008 at Farrar Funeral Home in Jefferson City with Reverend Garland Long officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday evening prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, P. O.
